Our trips to the outer
Coral Sea and Fraser Island offer some of the
best popper fishing and jigging anywhere in the
world. Our best GT on a popper so far is 68kgs
and our best dogtooth tuna on a popper was
50kgs. Our biggest dogtooth tuna caught jigging
has been 95kgs.
We target big GTs and big dogtooth tuna. We believe that our
record over the past 5 years shows that the
locations and techniques we are using make our
trips one of the best in the world to give
anglers a real chance at a fish of a lifetime.
All our trips are scheduled at prime times for
these species, and the majority of our clients
are interested in catching these and many other
species by casting poppers and jigging. This is
the type of fishing that we predominantly cater
for and we encourage catch and release on most
species.
Other species available on poppers and jigs
include Red bass, Coral Trout, Green Jobfish,
Purple Cod, large groupers, amberjacks, almaco
jacks, wahoo and many more.
For the Coral Sea Fly out dory trips, we fish
from the 18ft skiffs, and from the beaches of
the sand cays. Large GTs in the 50kg class are
a common event from the beaches at the right
tides. On the Ultimate Adventure trips, you also have
available the 36ft gameboats from which to jig
and cast poppers.
