These trips are conducted aboard our 36ft blackwatch sportfishing vessel. We can take a maximum of 4 anglers to fish the waters to the north of Fraser Island for a huge variety of species. Everything from GTs on poppers, black marlin, sailfish, amberjacks, spanish mackerel, cobia and many more species are available.
Your trip will start at Urangan boat harbour at around 5am, and you'll spend the 2.5hr trip to the fishing grounds in comfort inside the blackwatch. The decky will be readying whatever gear you have chosen to use for the day. First up we might stop off at the GT reef and have a cast for some monster GTs before setting the trolling gear out and heading out to the shelf. On the way to the shelf there's every chance of some good numbers of black marlin in the 40-80kg range, and also some big sailfish. If you're feeling energetic, we'll stop off on the shelf in 100m of water and you'll jig for some brutal hard fighting amberjacks on 100lb braid and locked up drags.
At the end of the day we'll steam back maybe 30 minutes to the top of Fraser Island and find a nice calm anchorage for the night. Your skipper and deckie will prepare dinner while you jig up some livebait for the next day, or maybe set a bait out the back of the boat.
You can choose as many days as you want at Fraser Island aboard this boat, and the fishing options are as varied as your imagination. If you'd like to make a booking or inquire about any dates between January-April that are of interest, please call our office.
