Bligh Reef 27th Sept 2012

Clint catches so many he runs out of tackle!

Clint: My guys had a great day on the water some of the best fishing they have seen they said.I fished one reef the whole day and there where plenty of fish for the taking. img_8321 We smashed the GTs first up and there where endless to go around it was great to see each guest get a fish over 30kg each its hard to beat that. They where so exhausted after the crazy popper session we did some light tackle though the fish we hooked where not to light there where some hungry fish eating our octa jigs and thinking back we boated only two fish getting destroyed by everything else I ran out of jigs and had to move on.”After a snorkel we went for a troll and after a bit of a quite period things got crazy huge schools of spanish and whaoo where taking down flyingfish and it was awesome to see full blown plegics in the air free jumping smashing bait we hooked a couple and a nice doggie and got smoked by some bigger ones. Glanville: We had another cruisy bunch of guys today who were hurting after yesterdays carnage…. We started off catching some fish on the flats and was really good sight casting to some decent size GTs on the light gear, some we landed and some we got cleaned up by, fun all the same!!!! We anchored up for a lunch session in the lagoon where the guys jumped on the water for a snorkel which was amazing they saw some awesome fish in the shallow lagoon and after those they had the taste to catch a few trout, we started off with a bang and boated a few nice trout straight up off the bat and decided to finish the day off with a little trolling to ease the muscles and ended off with a double hook up on the doggies right at the death after seeing some incredible sky rocketing mackerel….one thing for sure the mackerel in this place have been to flying school, they love their airtime!!!! Matt: Today I headed south with the boys keen for a popper and some light tackle in the shallows..The GTs were a bit quite but we still managed a couple and got busted by a couple, the fish of the day were two massive Wrasse that would have been about 50kg smash one guy and then five min later another which the guy pulled out of. The flats were pretty good down south with heaps of triple hook ups to Bass, big Trout, small GTs, Blue Fin Trevs, Spangled Emperor and Cod. John: After the last 2 days flying mackerel shenanigans the boys came out today with armour plating in case we came across any kamikaze Mackeral so we decided to cast our way up the reef but the fish where not feeling our love, after a couple of red bass and a nice GT that destroyed us in the shallows we decided to chase a few GTs and where rewarded with a couple of smaller sized fish and a decent attack from a dogtooth but the fish just were not on song for us today, that all changed when we started to light jig the deeper water in the afternoon with large red bass, chinnamon fish and a beautiful purple cod made making there way in front of the camera for a solid afternoons fishing.
