The weather was beautiful today which allowed us to venture out the front and have a cast finally which proved productive with us landing 3 frrm 7 GTs which was awesome. I was with Brandon, Dom and Darren so they were keen to keep casting and we ended up with a number of huge Coral Trout with the biggest around the 15kg mark!!! Darren also got blown away by a monster Wrasse that engulfed his popper right on the reef edge gave us a look at his huge blue side then disappeared down the ledge and proceeded to part the braid on the coral. He also missed a monster GT on the outside, we had a birds eye view from the top of a swell as a huge set of shoulders came out left a whole like someone had dropped a car in the water behind the popper and misssssed ahhhhhh! Was a great day with a few more large Trout and Jobfish in the arvo before heading back for a cold beer.
This morning started off pretty leisurly with Greg, Shaun and Jeremy wanting to go and drop some plastics. After a few average fish things were proving to be a little slow until lunch with the odd decent fish being landed. The fact that we had one tide today all day and only a difference of 900mm over the 12 hour period would have been making the fish a little more dosile. Having some lunch back on odyssey to drop Jeremy off for a snorkel we then headed off again and persisted on the lighter gear and started to land some decent fish including some small GTs, nice Wrasse on plastics and various other reef species. Looks like the wind is going to drop tomorrow.
Great day on the water today the guys where chilled and keen for anything so we cast the flats for a while for a nice Red Bass followed by a couple of little Cod species. Next the plastics came out and after a lot of driving around we found a little purple patch of Jobfish a couple of nice Wrasse and a few fish that busted us up amongst the reef. A ittle troll to end the day and the guys were keen for some brewskies!!
