Friday 27th July
Wow we arrived out to the reef for the first day of the new charter and it was a glass off. As you approach pressure edges they were riddled with fusilier shimmering on the surface!! The GT fishing was pretty good with a lot of fish swiping at the lures and a lot of hook ups. Brandon hooked up to an absolute monster that proved to be unstoppable, a bit unlucky. We managed to boat 10 really good size GT”s for the day with the biggest at 34kgs. A great way to start the week pumped for tomorrow.
Had a couple of mates out today and had a ball. Hooked over 50 GTs for the day, best one would have been 40kg, ended up landing 15… they were not much good at hooking up!! Flat calm perfect day and one of the best I’ve experienced in quite a while.
What an epic day……. glass out conditions from the word go it was bound to be a winner, we started off this morning with a fish off the first cast, looked around a little more and found a few others but battled to get the hooks stuck. The current started to really flow at around 10:30 and the fish came out to play at every spot we stopped at, this was was game on, it was more a case of expecting to see fish rather than hoping! What a pleasure to fish on a glass out ocean, and to catch quality fish, was just a bonus not to mention the mad little session of catching redthroats off the back of the mothership this evening. All in a day’s work, pumped for tomorrow’s session!
