Capricorn Islands 2007

UNBELIEVABLE GT action is the only way to describe this week. We fished the lead up to the full moon in April with George Pang, Steve Kakavas, Brandon Khoo and Peter Edwards fishing alongside our guides Damon, Tim, Ed, Liam and Jason. Biggest GT hooked was around 55kgs, and there were many of these. Brandon Khoo hooked up 4 monsters in the last 2 days to get the unlucky bugger of the week award. There were many personal best GTs landed, and the average fish size was between 25 - 30kgs, with many 40kg to 50kg fish seen every day. The number and size of the G's at this location is astonishing. CLICK HERE for the full trip report on the website with all the pics from the week.

Capricorn Islands 2008

Due to the success of the 2007 and 2006 trips to Capricorn Islands, we're offering some dates in 2008 for our first official charters to Capricorn Islands. As of publication of this newsletter, 2 of the 3 weeks available are already fully booked, but we have an availability for 12 anglers from the 14th - 20th February 2008. Cost of the trip is $4500pp for 6 days fishing including seaplane transfers from Hamilton Island to Capricorn Islands.

Kenn and Wreck Reef 2007

Kenn and Wreck reefs are some of the most incredible locations we visit each year, and for variety of species and size of GTs, doggies, wahoo and sailfish, there are few better places. We still have a couple of weeks available at these reefs, and these are the only Coral Sea vacancies we have remaining for 2007. The Coral Sea trips for November and December are now fully booked, so if you want to experience the Coral Sea in 2007, please call us on 1800 021 014 to ask about Kenn and Wreck Reef. The dates available are as follows:

Kenn Reef has vacancies from the 7th - 13th and the 13th - 19th September

Wreck Reef has vacancies from the 9th - 15th August and the 15th - 21st August

Wreck Reef will be alive with big wahoo in the 30-40kg size at this time of year, and it was during the same moon phase last year that we released 250 wahoo from over 1000 bites in 2 days fishing. Truly unbelievable stuff. You can check out Kenn Reef and Wreck Reef 2006 reports for more information.

Lizard Island GT and Jigging Exploration

For the first time ever, we will be offering GT fishing and Jigging trips to fish the waters north of Lizard island in October 2007. These exploratory trips will be fishing some of the most remote and untouched areas of the Great Barrier Reef at the prime time of the year. Some of the areas are only open to fish during the 3 month black marlin season, and as such they receive very little pressure. We have caught lots of GTs in this area in the past and 20 GTs in a day of average 20-30kg size would not be uncommon. We have 4 sets of 6 day trips available around the full and new moon period to target big GTs, dogtooth tuna and Spanish mackerel. You'll be fishing in a small group of 4 anglers aboard our 36ft Saltaire sport fishing vessel and returning to the mother ship at Lizard Island each night. These trips are excellent value for money this year at only $5400pp for 6 full days fishing using a 36ft sport fisher and 80ft mother ship

We can assure you that for the lucky few anglers who are able to make this trip, the fishing will surely be extraordinary. Please call us on 1800 021 014 for more information and on these trips.
