Frederick & Wreck Reef 2008 Trip Report
Well, it's hard to describe in words how good the fishing was for the 4 weeks of this trip. There are lots of words I could use to try and describe it, but the pictures in the trip report and the statistics speak for themselves. It was simply as good as bluewater fishing gets, and the guys on this trip all realised that they experienced something very special. Try releasing 18 wahoo on fly in a day from 60 hookups, or maybe 75 wahoo between 28-40kgs from one boat in a day released on conventional gear, and that's not to mention the multitude of blue and black marlin, dogtooth tuna, yellowfin tuna and massive coral trout. I suppose I should also mention the day where a dory hooked up 9 GTs over 50kgs in a single day and only landed one of them around 55kgs. There were also some epic dogtooth battles, with a 90kg doggie landed in shallow water our best victory. This was one of the best trips we have ever had to the Coral Sea, the fish were on the chew!

Capricorn Islands February 2009 Tripsf 2009 now full - Get in quick 09
With our April 2009 trips to Bugatti Reef now fully booked, it's time for anyone interested in a Lagoon Explorer trip for 2009 to start thinking about the Capricorn Islands in February. Bugatti Reef has booked out before the Capricorn Islands, which amazes us and many of our regular guests. The Capricorn Islands and its surrounding islands are probably the most scenic of any destination we visit, with beautiful pristine islands, beaches, reefs and headlands. Added to this, the size and variety of fish available is simply stunning. Don't be fooled by the proximity to the coast, you would be unlikely to see anyone else here ever, this place is seriously remote. Anyone who wants a huge variety of fishing for GTs, spanish mackerel, tuna, emperors, queenfish, coral trout, and a whole host of other species (over 40 in all), really needs to check out this location. Many of our regular guests who do both the Capricorn Islands and Bugatti each year rate the Capricorn Islands as their favourite destination, and while they can't explain why, it's just something about this place that keeps you coming back. MORE Bugatti Reef 2009 Lagoon explorer Dates Released
Our Bugatti Reef trips in April 2009 are fully booked, and there's about 20 people on the waiting list for April 2010. Due to this demand, we've released some more dates for Bugatti Reef 2009. The 20th-26th July and 26th July-1st August are the current dates available. July 2007 is when we first visited this area, and the fishing was simply superb.
