Frederick/Elusive Trips August 2009 - The fishing just gets better
It might seem like every month we tell you how great the fishing is, and that it just keeps getting better, but we tell you this because it is true. After having done this for a while now, we are going to the best places at the best time of year to be there, and we know even more about how to catch the fish than we did last time we went there. The last block of trips had the mothership stationed at Frederick Reef for 11 days, and then at Elusive Reef for about 10 days. The fishing at both locations was simply beyond belief. The group that got to fish both Frederick and Elusive experienced yellowfin tuna up to 50kg on poppers, GTs to 50kg on poppers, blue marlin on stickbaits, sailfish, 50-60 wahoo per boat per day at Frederick, and then 30 GTs per day per boat at Elusive, with one day producing 9 GTs over 40kgs landed. Oh, and did we mention massive spanish mackerel, and bludger trevally on the flats(as above) whenever we wanted. This is a trip report not to miss, for details CLICK HERE

Get in soon for 2010
2010 will be a great year to do a Nomad trip. We have an awesome schedule of locations, and our boats and crew have never been better. We already have heavy bookings for the first 6 months of 2010, so anyone interested in a trip in 2010 needs to get themselves thinking about making a reservation soon. The Drive Out Mothership trips start in March 2010, and we have vacancies for Coral Sea short trips on our gameboat starting in January 2010. There's also the early booking discount of 10% if you book more than 9 months ahead, and 15% for more than 12 months ahead. Coral Sea Short trips a huge success
The Coral Sea short trips, departing mackay for 2-4 days on our 51ft sportfisher are proving a huge success. A recent trip saw 30 GTs and 2 sailfish landed in one day from a reef close to Mackay. The fishing is proving to be simply phenomenal on some of these reefs. These trips are easy to organise, requiring just 5 people for a 2-4 days trip ex Mackay. New Nomad Bobara Stickbaits released
This new range of sinking stickbaits have proven to be extremely effective over the last 4 months fishing at Bugatti and Elusive reefs. We've caught GTs, spanish mackerel, wahoo, yellowfin tuna and sailfish on them so far. The little 50 gram model is deadly on small fish on the shallow reef areas, and is an awesome lure to troll in the shotgun position for spanish mackerel, wahoo and Sailfish.
