Coral Sea Short trips

65asdfwerert

Coral Sea 2-4 day Adventures

We have recently introduced these trips due to demand for a shorter trip option that still provides exceptional fishing. At the times of year when our 51ft Riviera sportfisher is not being used for Coral Sea Ultimate Adventures trips, we will be using it to operate shorter trips out of Mackay, Cairns, Cooktown, Lizard Island and Lockhart River. The reefs that will be visited on these trips vary depending on time of year and departure point. Information on dates and locations for these trips is available on our RATES/DATES page.

Many of the locations we visit are a long way offshore, and extremely remote, and as such the fishing you'll find there is excellent. The only reason we can offer these trips to places such as Jewell Reef and Bligh Reef is because of the support offerred by our mothership being in the area at the same time as the short trip. Due to fuel restrictions, we can only offer these trips for a maximum of 4 days in most locations.

The Coral Sea gameboat trips comfortably cater for up to 5 anglers per trip, and we cater for full groups of 5 anglers, and also individual anglers, or smaller groups wanting to join the trips. We have a selection of available dates for individuals and small groups listed on the Rates/dates page. If you have a group of 4 or 5 and want the whole boat for your group, then you should call us to discuss dates, as there will be many more options available to you.

The types of fishing that we are able to offer also depends on where we are fishing, but the styles of fishing available are as follows:-

  • GT fishing, and general lurecasting for a variety of reef species can be done at Bugatti, Black, Crab, Bligh, Jewell and the Capricorn Islands.
  • Trolling for sailfish and smaller black marlin can be done at Jewell,Bligh, Bugatti, Black and Crab reef, but this will depend on time of year.
  • Heavy tackle marlin fishing for giant black marlin is available during Sept-November between Bligh Reef and Cairns.
  • Deepwater jigging for dogtooth tuna is an option at Bligh and Jewell Reef
  • General deepwater jigging for reef species including red emperor, coral trout, sweetlip, trevally and many other species is an option at all locations..
  • Light tackle trolling for mackerel, wahoo, tuna, and many other pelagic species is available at most reefs we visit throughout the year
  • Soft plastic and general reef fishing for coral trout, emperor and other reef species is available at all locations.
