Fraser Island Fishing Options
Fraser Island is located on the southern Queensland Coast, and boasts a diverse range of species and fishing opportunities. We fish Fraser Island each year from January-April using our 36ft sportfishing vessel and our 18ft centre console sportfishers.
Some of the unique fishing options available at Fraser Island are as follows:-.
GT fishing aboard the 36ft sportfisher around the top of Fraser Island has produced numerous GTs over 60kgs on poppers. This is an excellent area to target massive GTs on poppers, but it is a challenging area to fish
General sportfishing, aboard the 36ft sportfisher, around the top of Fraser Island will see you encounter a huge range of species including spanish mackerel, wahoo, cobia, golden trevally, longtail tuna, black marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, mahi mahi and many more.
Deepwater Jigging around the top of Fraser Island will see you encounter huge amberjacks, kingfish and snapper.
Flyfishing enthusiasts will love the flats fishing available in our guided 18ft centre consoles. The waters around Fraser Island are alive with golden grevally, longtail tuna, queenfish and many mackerel species.
We also offer general sportfishing day trips aboard our 18ft centre consoles, catering for up to 3 anglers and targetting any of the wide range of species on offer in the waters around Fraser Island.
