Damon is the co-owner and general manager of Nomad Sportfishing Adventures, and has over 20 years experience fishing the east coast of Queensland. Before starting Nomad Sportfishing charters at Fraser island in 2000, he gained a degree in Civil Engineering from QUT in Brisbane. and worked as a Civil Engineer, before the lure of the ocean was just too much. He has been a member of many sport and gamefishing clubs since an early age, including the Brisbane Sportfishing Club, and Sunshine Coast Gamefishing Club, which has been Australia's most successful tag and release gamefishing club for the past 6 years.
Damon has guided and skippered clients on many incredible captures including 2 of the largest giant trevally ever caught anywhere in the world, black marlin up to 1300lbs at Lizard Island and 100kg dogtooth tuna in the Coral Sea.
Damon is the skipper of the Odyssey while out in the Coral Sea, and also skippers the 36ft blackwatch while on Coral Sea Charters. He also guides one of the 18ft centre consoles while on the Lagoon Explorer trips. Damon loves any kind of fishing involving seeing the fish strike. Some of his favourite personal forms of fishing are casting poppers for big GTs, sight fishing flats and lagoons with a flyrod in hand, chasing 1000lb marlin at Lizard Island and casting lures around tropical estuaries for barramundi and mangrove jacks. Some noteable achievements include:-

All this in only 22 days fishing.
- Having skippered the winning boat in many of Mooloolaba's biggest gamefishing tournaments including the inaugural Queensland Interclub & the Billfish Bonanza, and having won the inaugural Hervey Bay Gamefishing Classic, you can be sure that Damon will give you the best possible chance of catching whatever fish you're chasing.
- Damon has personally tagged and released well over a hundred billfish including black, blue, striped marlin and sailfish. And even managed time to be the runner up champion angler in Australia for the 2000/2001 season for the most billfish tagged and released by anyone in Australia for that year.
