Capt. Glanville Heydenrych - Trip Manager
Glanville hails from South Africa, where he grew up fishing near the coast, and won many junior surf fishing competitions on the east coast of South Africa whilst growing up. He is amongst the most experienced GT fishing guides in the world, having fished Mozambique, Oman and most of the East Coast of Queensland. Glanville joined the Nomad team in July 2008 and has proven to be one of the best and most professional guides we have ever had onboard.
Glanville is simpl one of the most mad keen and excitable fishermen that we've ever seen, and his enthusiasm is infectious amongst the guests who fish with him. Glanville shares his time between guiding on the 18ft centre consoles and the 25ft centre console vessels. We think he might be in love with the new 18ft centre consoles as we seem to have trouble getting him away from them at times!
Glanville spent many years working in Oman and in Mozambique as a fishing guide before coming to Australia, and it was purely through determination and constant harassment of Damon that he was hired and sponsored. Glanville does still have a thick South African accent, and is near on impossible to understand when he gets excited, but it all adds to the fun of a day on the water with him.
Glanville is undoubtedly one of the best GT fishing guides in the world, and also now works as Trip & Operations Manager on many trips throughout the year with Nick and Damon.
