More Fun, More Fish, We Make It Happen

Far North Sports Fishing and Nomad Sportfishing join forces to bring you FNSF-NOMAD, giving you the best blue water fishing charters in the world, by using the latest techniques and the most modern equipment.

Combine this with our remote locations and professional service, and you simply can’t lose.

Why Choose FNSF-NOMAD?

We could carry on about how we have the best guides, the best boats, best locations and pride ourselves on the highest quality customer service. But anyone can simply claim to be the best, so let’s start with some facts to help explain how exactly it is that we provide you with more reef, more fish and more fun.

WE START WITH THE WORLD'S BEST FISHING LOCATIONS

The Great Barrier Reef (GBR) and Coral Sea makes up around 54% of the earth’s entire tropical coral reef systems. So it won’t surprise you that there are simply more fish living here than anywhere else on earth. The Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea, can be considered as the “Amazon Rainforest” of the world’s oceans. This reef system is without doubt the world’s healthiest and most diverse marine ecosystem.

So if you want to be sure of giving yourself the best chance at catching the most fish, and the biggest fish, in the time you have available, you need to be fishing the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea with FNSF-NOMAD. Go anywhere else and you can be sure you’re only getting second best!

Our custom built mothership allows us unique access to areas of the reef that others cannot get to. We fish up to 1500 miles of the Great Barrier Reef each year, fishing the most remote areas, and only for a few weeks at each part of the reef. This means that you can expect spectacular fishing every trip.

Species Variety

We specialise in lure casting, jigging, trolling and flyfishing for GTs and Dogtooth Tuna, plus large pelagic sportfish such as Spanish Mackerel and Yellowfin Tuna. Bring your fish encyclopaedia as we regularly catch and release rare reef species in the remote waters of FNQ, such as various Wrasse and Maori Sea Perch. We offer a broader range of charter locations with inshore and estuary sportfishing options available, targeting Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Queenfish, Golden Trevally and a wide range of estuary and inshore species.

MEET THE TEAM

Aran

Meet our most local guide! Aran is a Far North Queenslander, born and bred. Hailing from the beautiful Cow Bay in the Daintree Rainforest, Aran has grown up amongst the best fishing opportunities Queensland has to offer. After studying Environmental Management, Aran went on to work as a snorkelling tour guide in the Great Barrier Reef before his love of fishing inspired him to follow his passions. Aran lives and breathes fishing - always fishing, camping and spear fishing with his mates in his down time. He has expressed his favourite fishing spots are the most remote bluewater sites his job takes him to, as well as the Archer River for the big barra season. He's always stoked to see any big GTs, doggies, wrasse or barra pulled in by guest anglers, his favourite quote being, "You don't hit it til you hit it". Despite evidence to the contrary, Aran claims to be an excellent dancer...we'll let our guests decide!

Jimmy

A true seaman at heart, Jimmy hails from the wilds of Auckland, but has spent many years travelling all around the Pacific islands as a skipper, diver, fisherman and engineer. With a plethora of credentials, Jimmy has extensive experience in marine operations, commercial and recreational fishing, diving, and holds a rare 500-tonne master's ticket. In his downtime, Jimmy loves spearing, and whisking the love of his life away on fishing adventures. A highly valuable employee, all of our guests who have travelled with Jimmy have expressed their utmost pleasure of travelling with him, some requesting Jimmy specifically on their return trips! All of Jimmy's favourite spots are very quietly shared with our guests, as he wants to keep his environment as pristine and untouched as possible. Plus - a bonus for our guests! - he loves to cook up crabs and crayfish on beach barbecue days, one of the possible experiences to be had when Jimmy is taking you to the islands

Toneisha

Toneisha is our hostess with the mostest, a bubbly character with a "nothing is too hard" attitude. Originally from Townsville, Toneisha moved further north to the Port Douglas region as a small child and has remained ever since. Though young, Toneisha is already a qualified Dive Master with years' experience in commercial and charter fishing. Toneisha loves to chase waterfalls in her downtime, as well as fishing and making the most of her youth with her friends. Lizard Island repeatedly takes her breath away, a favourite spot she tries to take advantage of wherever possible. Her favourite part of the job? Seeing the looks of elation and excitement when our guests pull in a stellar catch!
